The Roswell Oral History Project collection consist of 31 taped interviews on 42 cassette tapes, with transcripts, and the transcript only for one additional interview. The interviews were conducted in 1985 by Dr. Ray Burrola with Hispanic and Mexican American residents of Roswell, New Mexico. The project was funded by the Southwest Hispanic Research Institute located at the University of New Mexico. This project was also known as Mutualistas: The Roswell Experience. Topics discussed in the interviews include family and local history, ethnic identity, social life, and customs. |
