| Description: |
With the support of numerous friends of the Mayor, we have been able to initiate a series of interviews with the members of the administration of Edward I. Koch, mayor of New York City from 1977 to 1990. The longest tenure for a city mayor since the days of Fiorello La Guardia, the administration of Mayor Koch was one of the most significant in the history of the city, including, among many major events, the rescue of the city from near bankruptcy, the expansion of city services in the fields of health, education, and housing, and the reorganization of many of the city's major agencies. |
