Description: Dr. Margaret Jacobs, a member of the Department of History at NMSU, started the NMSU Women's Oral History project in 1999, in order to document the lives of American women in the Southwest in the 20th century. Each of her students in History of Women in the United States from 1848 to the Present (History/Women's Studies 352) is required to conduct and transcribe a 45-minute interview with a woman over the age of 50.
