Description: In 2003 we created 'imini zakudala: Guguletu elders remember', with the aim of empowering young South Africans and exploring social trauma experienced by residents during the unrest of the 1980's. Over a 9 month period we trained two residents of Guguletu, Sibongile Mtini and Andiswa Gidane in oral history interviewing skills, transcription and translation. In November of 2003 we launched our multi media/multi-lingual exhibition and community radio programmes. Throughout 2004 the project will travel to high schools in the region.
