From June 1984 to May 1985, the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives conducted interviews with more than 40 North Carolinians in all parts of the state about the differences electricity had made in their daily lives. The Rural Electrification Project, directed by Lu Ann Jones, a former graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was partially funded by the North Carolina Humanities Committee, and was produced to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Rural Electrification Administration in 1985. |
