Description: Ronald Fraser (b.1930) is a leading historian of twentieth-century Spain, using oral history techniques to document the experience of the Spanish Civil War and later changes in Spanish society. In Hiding is based on interviews with the last socialist mayor of Mijas, who survived thirty years in hiding from the Franco regime, and with his wife and daughter; The Pueblo describes the changes that have affected Mijas during the tourist development of the Costa del Sol, based on interviews with villagers.
