Interviewers - Arnold Bolle and Dan Hall. Wolf recalls the 1959 controversy over the Kern Plateau in the Sequoia National Forest in California. In this situation, recreationists and the Sierra Club opposed the timber sales proposed by business groups on the Kern Plateau. Wolf was sent to investigate. He describes the trip and his subsequent recommendation against the timber sales that the Forest Service ignored. Finally, he considers the value of the Kern Plateau as a case study.
