Interviews conducted on 10-03-1994 and 10-10-1994 with Mrs. Jane Menefee Schutt (born 1913). Mrs. Schutt was appointed to the Mississippi Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights and served four years, the last year as chairman. She served on the board of directors of the Mississippi Council on Human Relations and worked with the Head Start Program. She received the Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., Award in 1973 and the Church Women United Valient Award.
