(NLFSV) Tran Bach Dang was born in 1925 in the Mekong Delta. He was a member of the Viet Minh and was active against the French during the French-Indochina War. He remained politically active after 1954 and was a founding member of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam (NLFSV) aka the Viet Cong. A senior leader, Dang formed the Youth Liberation Association in Saigon in 1961and was made Chairman of the YLA that same year. Dang also became a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the NLFSV and led the YLA and other NLF elements in Saigon during Tet Mau Than 1968. Dang currently resides in Vietnam and is still active in journalism and writing. (Interview conducted in Vietnamese). OH0007 - part of the Tran Bach Dang Collection
