He served with US Army Special Forces as Deputy Commander, Operational Detachment B-43 in Kien Phong, MACV CORDS Advisor in Go Cong and Kien Hoa, Deputy Senior Advisor in Kien Phong, USAID Education Advisor on Go Cong, Chief New Life Development (NLD) and Refugee Advisor in Can Tho, and he worked in the War Victims Division in Saigon until 1975.
