(USAF) Timothy C. Lockley, originally from Jackson, Mississippi, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 until 1973. He first went to Southeast Asia TDY in December 1966 where he was based out of Tan Son Nhut AB as a member of the maintenance team with the 773rd Tactical Airlift Squadron (TAS) until April 1967. He was among the first crews to participate in the dropping of "Daisy Cutter" ordinance. Tim went back to Southeast Asia TDY from 1968 to 1969 to Mactan and Clark AB, The Philippines, as a member of the 763rd TAS ("The Green Weasels"). He was based out of Saigon and Cam Ranh Bay during this deployment while flying in South Vietnam. Tim was eventually promoted to Maintenance Supervisor and Crew Chief. In 1971, he was sent to Ching Chuan Kan AB, Taiwan ("Peppergrinder") and flew missions in South Vietnam and Laos. In 1972, he spent some time at Udorn RTAFB with the 7th Airborne Command and Control Squadron. Overall, Tim spent 27 months in Southeast Asia over his seven year enlistment.
