(USA) Edward W. Nidever, originally from Fresno, California, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1955 and then served in the U.S. Army until 1965. He served as a Company Commander, 3rd Infantry, at Ft. Benning and in Korea. Ed went to Vietnam in 1960 as a Special Forces B Team Commander with the 5th Special Forces in Vietnam where he worked with ARVN Ranger units. After being wounded and evacuated in 1961, Ed was stationed at the Army Special Forces Headquarters at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and then was moved to Ft. Benning, Georgia, and worked as an instructor in the Ranger and Airborne Department. OH0230 - part of the Edward Nidever Collection
