(USAF) Allen L. (Buck) Trott, Jr., originally from Washington, DC, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 until 1980 and retired a Colonel. Buck served briefly in the U.S. Coast Guard before completing his B.A. at the University of Maryland. After graduation, he joined the Air Force in 1953 and was stationed at various places around the United States and Europe, including a number of years in Strategic Air Command as a B-47 pilot and a two year tour at the Pentagon where he worked with the SR-71 project. Buck went to Vietnam in December 1968 as a KC-123 pilot in Operation RANCH HAND with the 12th Special Operations Squadron stationed at Bien Hoa. He also worked as a Targeting Officer and Operations Officer. By the time he left in December 1969, Buck had flown 235 combat defoliation missions. OH0272 - part of the Allen Trott, Jr. Collection
