Kathleen "Kat" Bergeron was born on April 23, 1950 to Roy Louis and Cotton Louella Gayle Bergeron. She attended Gulfport East High School and the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism at Marshal University in Huntington, West Virginia. From 1995 to 1996, Ms. Bergeron attended University College Cork in Cork, Ireland, as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
