Mr. Alvin L. Fielder Sr. was born December 7, 1900, five miles southeast of Hickory, Mississippi (Newton County). His parents were Matilda Jones and a father he never knew. He took the name of the grandfather on his mother's side. He was the second youngest of eight children. Currently, he is residing in Meridian, Mississippi.
