Mrs. Alyce West Richardson was born on August 2, 1930, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to John Parker and Cordelia M. West. One of two siblings, she grew up in Cleveland, Mississippi, and attended the Hill Demonstration School. After more than thirty years as the secretary-treasurer of West Implement Company, Inc., and West Machine Shop, Inc., she retired in 1983.
