Dr. Forest Kent Wyatt was born on May 27, 1934, in Berea, Kentucky. His parents were Forest Earl Wyatt and Almeda Hymer "Doodie" Wyatt. He attended Delta State College (now Delta State University), in Cleveland, Mississippi, where his father was a professor and coach, graduating with a double degree in mathematics and health, physical education, and recreation.
