| Description: |
A Yorta Yorta man, Glen grew up in Shepparton, Victoria, and went to school there before taking up an apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner. He was conscripted into the army in July 1968 to fight in Vietnam. Glen undertook his initial training as a field engineer in Puckapunyal, Victoria, and for active service at jungle school in Canungra, Queensland. The Australian Government sent him to Vietnam in May 1969 where he completed a twelve-month tour of duty. Glen returned to Australia in April 1970 and became a founding member of the Ex-Vietnam Royal Australian Engineers Association.
