Helen was co-author, with Jack Mason, of two important books on the history of Marin County: Early Marin (1971) and The Making of Marin (1975). Helen is a former interior decorator who came to Marin in 1930 and bought two aces of land on which she built her home. She describes research techniques for gathering historical data from county archives and libraries.
