Catherine is the granddaughter of William Pixley, who was the brother of Frank Pixley, an early California pioneer and creator of the San Francisco periodical, The Argonaut (1877-1958). Catherine discusses early residents in Corte Madera, including Captain John Van Reynegon. and early Marin and Corte Madera land holders including the Pixleys, Reeds, William Colemans, Forbes, McCues and Chapmans. Catherine also describes her grandparents’ life at their Owl’s Wood farm in Corte Madera.
