Bo Cockriel invested in producing oil wells and drilled new ones beginning in the 1930s. He started out on Signal Hill in the 1930 and after World War II extended his operations to include other oil fields as well. He also invested in an oil well servicing company and was among the founders of the Long Beach Petroleum Club.
