Peter Barss and Joleen Gordon Collection Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Interviews recorded from 1975 to 1977 and in 1980 as research for the book OlderWays : Traditional Nova Scotia Craftsmen. Interviewees were artisans practicing a craft, traditional in Nova Scotia and which produced a practical item (i.e. folk artists were not interviewed). Their crafts include the making of fish nets, sails, knives, baskets, butter churns and tool handles, They discuss technical aspects of their work and compare modern lifestyles and alues to the traditional (pioneer life, farm life).
